Access Keyboards new range of keyboards are designed to give retailers an easy transition to acceptance of EMV Credit Card and Debit Card Chip Card payment.

The keyboards
combine a robust programmable keyboard with an EMV Level 1 & 2 “Swipe
and Park” card reader. There is also provision for a
PIN pad to be attached enabling retailers to implement PIN based Cardholder
verification once PIN enabled cards become commonly available. Many leading retailers believe “Swipe and
Park” will keep the costs
of retraining staff to a minimum and help the introduction of EMV Chip
card payment to be seamless to their customers By swiping a credit card through the
reader it is possible to read 3 track MSR encoded data as well as
locate the card securely into the smart card receptor and complete an EMV
payment transaction by reading the Chip.
Cards with only a magnetically encoded data can also be processed in
the same reader without relying on the operator to distinguish between card
types.
Access Keyboards provide a pre-configuration service to
customise keypads with
special key layouts, colours and legends. QWERTY over
POS and 15x8 matrix keyboard layouts are available as well as options which
integrate a Glidepoint mouse pointer. All
key positions can be programmed
to have a single character or string of characters. A keyboard
pass-through port is also fitted for system maintenance and programming. | |
